The clock is
about the length of two credit cards and
thinner than the width of a credit card,
it displays the date & time. It fits
nicely into your hand and when you push
the button to turn the reader on and hold
it near the employees card, it will read
the card number, the clock will 'Beep',
a bright LED will nearly blind you, the
card number is then displayed on the LCD
screen. It will switch off automatically.
This card reader works for around 100
000 clockings before the battery must
be replaced. This robust little clock
will work in the rain which makes it splash
proof.
The electronics are completely sealed
and top of the clock has a rubber cover
which can be opened to connect the USB
cable to your PC. Then you can download
all the clockings. Simple as that.
The unit comes complete with a leather
pouch (like a cell phone holder) that
can be clipped to your supervisors belt
and the clock is inserted and secured.
The supervisor takes the clock with
him wherever he goes. Staff arriving late,
need to go find the supervisor to clock
in and report why they arrived late. Although
not idiot proof, it will greatly reduce
one employee clocking in/out for the other.

Payroll interface
Once the Time and attendance system has settled down and everything is working nicely, some companies want to link the T&A data directly into their payroll system. You can either do this yourself, or get one of our software technicians on site to help you set up the pay roll interface, then test the data and transfer data to the payroll. You can then check that the data on the payslips is correct before the technician leaves site, so that you know that the system is working. Sometimes this goes quickly and other times it can take ages to sort out, i.e. Which payroll codes are used for Sick note paid?: Unpaid?: Public holiday: various overtimes, etc. Budget for a few hours to test & commission & make sure everything is working.
